"Tell her--I feel fine." Spock left his father and rejoined Kirk.
"I'll have to pitch that shirt," Kirk quipped as they exited HQ. "Shirt?" "That Uhura bought me when you were promoted--'My husband's the CAPTAIN but I am the ADMIRAL'. I--I wore it when we left Earth to retrieve you from Genesis. It was there the whole time, under my shirt, reminding me of you," he added in a quiet, emotional voice. "After being worn as your undershirt for three months in the Vulcan desert, I believe there are reasons other than your demotion for its retirement." |
