Sing a Song of JTK

Of starship captains hard at work,
There's none that top our James T. Kirk.
He came from Iowa, on Earth,
A man of courage, brains, and mirth.
And through his wise commands, he flies
That silver lady, Enterprise
Through combat and through exploration
He keeps vigil at his station,
The bridge laid out around his chair
He gives his orders sitting there.
When needing friends to give advice,
Vulcan; Georgian; both suffice
He strives and seeks the ways to do
The very best for ship and crew.
He keeps his fitness in the gym,
With sculpted muscles every limb.
Relaxing, he'll play 3-D chess,
Or find a snack in the Officer's Mess.
At night, when all the shifts are done,
With data gained, and battles won,
He sets the alarm on his little clock,
And nestles next to Mister Spock.
